Sublimation printing is a printing technique in which ink is converted into gas and durable prints can be printed in various materials, including glass and metal, by means of heat. In this way we can capture photos in a unique way on, for example, key rings, coasters or jewelry.

With engraving, the text or drawing is applied to the material using a special laser pen. We use this technique to engrave the name of your pet in a dog tag, for example. It is also possible to engrave a photo, but this only gives a good result if we convert the photo into an engravable drawing. With sublimation printing, you get the entire image printed in color on the item you have chosen.

The difference in price usually has to do with the option to engrave images. In gold-colored medals, you do not have the option to have an image engraved, because this does not give a nice result. Engraving an image in black or silver, on the other hand, gives a better result. That is why the gold medal will have a cheaper price in that case, because the option to engrave an image is missing and you only have the option to have text engraved.

Is it nicer to have a photo engraved or printed on the medal?
A simple picture of, for example, your pet's head is nice to have engraved. In contrast to sublimation printing, engraving gives a nice authentic look. The photo of your pet is converted into a special engravable drawing before engraving. Would you rather have the entire photo printed in color? Then choose sublimation printing.

If it is possible to print or engrave an image, the option to upload an image will appear on the screen. Does that option not appear on the screen? This means that it is not possible because the chosen medal is not suitable for an image. In that case it is only possible to engrave a name.
